A subtly nuanced sherry forward nose. Lots of red fruit, especially currants, plus some apple, pear, and a squirt of citrus. Also, vanilla cream, thin caramel, and a drop of honey develop as it diffuses odoriferously from the glass. Very rich and sweet on the palate, yet not cloyingly so. Stewed fruits, including those detected in the nose plus raspberries, in cinnamon laden syrup, with orange and lemon almond nougat candy. The body is full and tongue coating. In the glass, legs appear slowly in straight, neat, thin lines leaving behind a fine mist of glistening droplets. The finish is mild and nutty, with hints of spice, almond, oak, and dried mixed fruits, including coconut and pineapple, but mostly raisins. 15 years of aging balanced with a potent 46% ABV makes this sherrybomb a banger of a dram!
