Nose: Smells lightly of sweet, dried out wine casks with a subtle hint of harbour.
Taste is surprisingly sweet, but still with a healthy amount of pepper that can catch you off guard. Deliciousness that eventually fades over to a tingely cereal taste. the rest of the peat stays on the tongue for a while.
BONUS review: Talisker 6 Hepburns Choice independent botteling: I was luckey to get a sample of this limited run of a young Talisker. Smells of light oak and the coastline of Skye. Trickey on the palette, it's obviously peated, but strangely airy, it dances like a butterfly and stings like a bee in some sort of wild symphony of salty bogwater and white pepper. Savory oily finish. Color me impressed.
