Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Discontinued)

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Reviewed May 12, 2016 (edited May 6, 2017)

This does not taste like bourbon, as it is so light and acetone-like. With my eyes closed, I could not tell if it was cheap bourbon or a bottom-shelf blended scotch! Nose is ethanol and nail-polish remover. Taste is similar with a burning spicy sensation, followed by a bitter finish. I will save the rest to serve to those neighbors I dislike, this Summer!

I actually like the company and I really wanted to like this one. As I went through the bottle, I found that it tasted more like cheap tequila that a good bourbon. I never said that I do not know the difference between bourbon and Scotch. When did a blind taste, I could not determine what it was.

If you can't tell this between scotch, please refrain from any further comments. The profile of this bourbon is sweet, and bitter is the opposite of sweet. Do you have an axe to grind with the company or something?
