Rye — Kentucky, USA

Nose - Vanilla, baking spices and oddly enough what smells like an almost flour-ey smell. I get a sweetness like that of a very very light caramel in that the sugar has not quite turned dark. In addition, I get a faint herbal, slightly minty background.
Taste - Hits the tongue with an initial vanilla and light brown sugar sweetness that quickly turns into a pretty intense rye/cinnamon spice. I get what seems like a hint of mint and a light floral quality. Has a creamy, almost buttery mouthfeel.
Finish - Buttery spiciness that lingers and transitions into a very light minty oak that is very slightly bitter. Nice long lingering peppery, spicy finish.
83/100
