For me this knocked my other favorite Irish pot still the red breast right off it's perch. Beautiful viscosity and a taste that keeps me swirling the whiskey around and around my mouth before I swallow. The three barrels really each stand out but also blend nicely. You really get the balance between the vanilla of the bourbon, Sherry and the honey sweetness of the malaga. Really love the spice of the black pepper that comes through as well. It does tend to be at the upper limit of what I can bare sweetness wise though. Almost a dessert whiskey. A whisky that after a year open with only a few shots left still tastes great

@Soba45 Wouldn’t go out of your way for it to be honest. There are a lot nicer around - never heard of NZ whiskey though ... good wine and rugby. I’ve a “rule” in that I keep 35 bottles - if I get a new one it either replaces one in stock or does not make the grade - my pals in work, who I give the no 36 to think it’s a great system 😊. Tony
@arcarey No I'm REALLY keen to try a sample. I haven't seen it over this side of the world in NZ. I have two much whiskey to work through so I very rarely buy full bottles these days but this one will be an exception!
Hi. Have you tasted the Red Spot. It was very hard to source pre Christmas - thankfully my daughter was ahead of me and a nice Christmas morning surprise. I’ve asked Mitchell’s if they are re-releasing the final one - Blue Spot anytime soon - was told to wait and see 😊
