3 or so years ago this rum started me on my path to straight spirit (now primarily whisky) drinking. At the time I thought I was being offered a port at the tasting session which is why I tried it. I really loved the richness and bought many a bottle. Fast forward a few years and my taste profile has changed. I find it way way to sweet, however given the special place it has in my memory and due to the fact it is a quality rum for the price I'm rating it 4 stars. It would have got 5 a couple of years ago :-)
