It's probably blasphemous, but I wasn't impressed as much as the hype makes me believe I should have been. We were at a friend's place, and he bought this out for his guests. I was the only one that wasn't impressed by it...thought it didn't have the complexity as it's price tag should warrant. Instead, for a fraction of the price, I really liked the Green Label I tried a while back. I like blends (Compass Box, Hibiki)...just not this particular one

I had a dram of Blue earlier this week while on company travel. The senior person in our party picked up the tab so I didn't see what it cost. She didn't say anything but now I'm wondering. That said I didn't find it very special but attributed that to the flared rocks glass they served it in. I could get nothing from except vanilla. The Glenmorangie Original I followed it was nicer.
I guess if I'm going to pay a premium price, I really want the blend to match it. Compass Box for me does that.
This blend is not worth a quarter of the price you pay for the bottle. It's the ultra-premium-deluxe brand name you pay for... not the intrinsic quality of the bottle. Hence, your conclusion is spot on!
I like the JW profiles as it was the whisky that started my journey. That being said, I find this one decent however, for the price point, as many others before have stated, not worth it, VFM. And totally agree, Green is their best in the range.
