Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond
Rye — Kentucky, USA

Getting rye whiskey is hard to do in my part of France and when you can find it, it's twice as expensive, but I am so grateful to have been given this, it's one of my favourites!! Lemony flavours, orange peel, lots of nuts (chestnut, walnut, praline, cocoa, coconut) creamy caramel, splendid medicinal notes, ginger (and other flavours I'd associate with sushi), toasty flavours, sweet spicy pepper... that's just some of the flavours I can actually remember. As for the texture, it's so luxuriant and oily! It's a shame that some awful pagans have given this holy whisky a bad review or defile it by using it in cocktails, may the Lord have mercy upon your souls.

Funny that you mention Woodford Reserve. Reviews are rather average but it was the first bourbon, I actually liked. So you're certainly not alone, malt mate!
(accidentally posted it... This comment part isn't user friendly) Bulleit bourbon and a few other bad drinks, I wanted to stay away from bourbon, but Woodford Reserve: Distiller's Reserve changed things (I know I'm pretty much alone in taking this whisky seriously though). I can certainly say that Rittenhouse Rye is surprisingly smooth and soft. I recommend Koval too, but they are very potent, many people have been taken aback by the raw grain flavours, both the bourbon (with corn and millet) and the Four Grain (oat instead of corn, rye, malted barley and wheat) take no prisoners. Anyway, if you don't like Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond, then send me the bottle! XD
@Slàinte Mhath me neither, but my grand-aunt kept telling me how great rye was and this seemed like the best one. We are both in Europe, so finding a good bourbon isn't always easy, let alone a good rye. After trying Bulleit bourbon
I bought a bottle of Rittenhouse today, as it was highly recommended in various reviews... I am not very focused on bourbon/rye - but on the other hand, I am always interested in new flavors.
