Very strange and not what I expected. Buttered bread pudding comes to mind, possibly with some cinnamon and fruit. It's perfumey and there's some maple syrup to it. It's very thick and oily and the alcohol is well hidden making it dangerously easy to drink. Potpourri begins to appear as the whiskey sits in the glass for a while. I wasn't sure how I felt about this one the first time I tried it. I gave it a couple days and came back to it and I'm officially amazed. It's buttery, bready, fully of maple syrup and potpourri, and to top it off; it's so oily it's almost like cream in my mouth and it's so easy drinking I can probably chug the whole dram and not even wince. I'll definitely be picking up the Cask Strength next.
