Amazing color... pale rosy amber with a silvery green hue. Forms a beautiful Scotch mist with a full teaspoon of water. Nose: Rich warming peat, signature "band-aid", old leather, butterscotch and dark chocolate covered walnuts. Little whiffs of raspberry. Palate: Spicy sherry arrival along with a touch of sulphur, smoky charcoal sweetness and dry orange peel follow into the long drying salted-caramel finish. Glad I nabbed a fifth, can't wait to see next year's bottling! Dry glass: oven-roasted sweet potato.

I had this year's bottling to go along with the 200th Anniversary one and intended to do a side by side tasting, but I finished off this year's bottle quicker than usual (while trading away 6-8ozs). It looks as though the 2015 Cairdeas wasn't finished in any type of special cask and looks more like it's more of a cask strength bottling of an undetermined age. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed this year's vintage, I still believe my favorite was the 2013 Port Cask version. Cheers.
Never got a chance to taste last year's, although I do think I've seen one recently on a shelf somewhere...
Did you like this over last year's Cairdeas? It was their 200th anniversary one, in green label
