Aroma: Gala apple, salt water, & subtle peat.
Flavor: Cinnamon, pear, honey, lightly malty, herbal, & orange zest.
Aftertaste: Mineral water, mint and pleasantly peaty finish.
Light-medium bodied blend, showcases the skills of blending. Monkey Shoulder was my gateway from Bourbon to Scotch. Smooth, rich, and sweet it introduces peat in an approachable way. 3 stars because although I love this whisky, it's not the most exciting or versatile.
