Dang. So much bourbon tasted this Christmas. Some may worry that I'm switching sides, but those who know my heart know better. Nonetheless I'm enjoying this. On the nose: maple, tobacco, and apricot preserves. The palate brings incredible spice and heat; vanilla extract, charred oak, pepper, decaying leaves, hazelnut, praline, and the taste of the musty air in an old barn. The mouthfeel is resinous and boasts a mouthwatering minerality; you're licking it off your teeth for the next minute. The aftertaste is of tobacco ash and rich oak. Paired with some wonderful Johnson company and a marvelous bowl of... guacamole.

Totally understand. I love my scotch as well.
I feel you. I am learning to appreciate other whiskeys but the single malt world has me captivated.
Enjoy what you enjoy. Try new things. Scotch, bourbon, etc. For me, exploring and sharing (like the forums here) is the most enjoyable part of the experience. Keep continuing to keep us of your experiences. I look forward to your postings, Lee's and everyone here. I thoroughly enjoy
I keep telling myself I'm going to start enjoying more bourbon from time to time I just can't seem to get away from the scotch long enough to give it a go. I really need to give more rye whiskey a chance as well. Maybe in 2017...
