As soon as you open the bottle, you can smell the oranges. I especially love the color...elegant orange golden hue (probably coloring added? ). The taste is rich and refined. I'm getting oranges with honey. Figs and chocolate. Amazingly smooth. I just had the Master of Malt Darkness Macallan 15 PX, and this one is by far better. It's just more elegant. I don't smoke, but if I did, I can see a Cigar going well with this. The combination of oranges, honey, figs and chocolate is almost perfect. Really good for the price, and a worthwhile treat to,replace dessert.

$128 is pretty pricey. At 80€ (and with dollar so strong), it's a no-brainer for the liter. I think for $128 at 750ml...not sure. You gotta be a fan of this style.
Great review Pranay I have read so many diverging reviews on Dalmore that I haven't made the leap. The Cigar Malt is usually available but at a price of $128 in Indiana. You have me intrigued!
I've been cradling a bottle of the 15 year old for the past year, and U really enjoy it. It's been coasting me away from Isays, and more towards Speyside/Highland/Rye.
Duly noted!
I usually buy about $500 worth when I travel abroad, and then claim the VAT deduction at the airport (only allowed if purchases are over a certain number, like $500). With the VAT taken out, it then becomes a real good savings. This for example was about 100€, but after a 20% VAT savings at airport, becomes 80€. Not bad for a liter.
The few online retailers that still have the Cigar Malt available are charging north of $120 for a 750ml. I bought a bottle back in the spring for just over $100. Since it's no longer produced I'm seriously considering putting it away long term and see what happens to the resale value.
The 12 yr is really good. And I found this even better, in my opinion. I actually thought it was really good value...but I bought this on a business trip in Europe, $80 for a liter. Not sure what the price is here though.
@Damon, take a chance on the 12 year, it's an excellent dram, and relatively affordable ($50-60).
Man, the coloring/price combination is why I haven't got a bottle of Dalmore. They sound so heavenly though.
Slainte: it might also be chill filtered too---I had my 2nd Dram with a piece of ice, and didn't notice the cloudy formation
Heavily colored... unfortunately. You can just tell by looking at Dalmore/Jura bottles, there is this unnatural orange glow. As legendary and superb as Richard Patersons nose might be, I don't get why Dalmore/Jura spoils their whiskies by intense coloring and a trend towards NAS. There is so much potential! If this whisky had an age statement, natural color and a less hefty price tag, I'd certainly try it. Cheers.
