Old Pulteney 21 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland

Introduces itself with the most delicious aromas of coffee cake drizzled with caramel sauce. Explore and you’ll find hints of peanut skins too. The taste evolves to bitter orange rind covered in dark chocolate, with an undercurrent of zesty nutmeg. I had originally marked this as a five when I tasted it in a bar at the start of the year, but I didn’t quite taste perfection when I opened a bottle at home last night. The middle is a little frustrating: some sips deliver caramel, others feel a little thin. Nevertheless, it’s a classy whisky that will be missed and I’m happy to have stashed away a couple of bottles after Pulteney announced its discontinuation.

Lucky you if you can get this for less than $250, let alone $110 (go buy a crate!!!) in the uk it's £250 minimum :(
@Rick_M I’d be overjoyed with that - last time I checked, including import duties, it would cost well over $US250 to privately import a bottle to Australia.
Thanks Lee, that’s a great price. Unfortunately, they can’t ship to MA, or nearby states. I picked up 2 bottles today and would have saved $50 if I could have used them. Richard, thanks to you as well for the info.
Yeh, that's where I got mine.
@Rick_M- The Wine & Cheese Place online store out of St. Louis has it in stock and for sale at $118. If your state allows incoming alcohol shipments that’s a pretty good deal IMO
@Rick_M I think I paid around $110 but it's typically $150 or more.
What would be a good price for this?
Still have a bottle tucked away. Always reluctant to crack open a bottle I know I can't replace or whose price has skyrocketed unless its a special occasion.
An allocation came our (Australia’s) way a couple of months ago and sold out in minutes - literally! Price was 150% that of a year ago. I heard a rumour that one more allocation is coming.
@PBMichiganWolverine still a lot on the shelves, though the price has been creeping up
I think it's now officially even out of the distribution supply chain. The 17 will end later in 2018 I think
