Definitely needed water to coax out the flavor. In the end it just seemed like a standard bourban cask finish. 3.5

@ContemplativeFox There are a number of factors at play. Quality of cask, how many times cask has been reused, how long the finishing is, climate e.g. heat and humidity. Then how long bottle has been open for as some components last better than others in whiskey. Endless variety :-)
I know that barolo is supposed to be a very tannic wine, but I'm stocked that a red wine cask could produce something that just tastes like bourbon.
