Seaweeds, cereal and vanilla on the nose. Orchard fruit, salt-sprinkled honey and lemonpeel on the palate. The finish is short and a little bit bitter. At first, I found the combination of flavours in this unpeated Islay whisky strange, but it is definitely a good dram and worth a try.

@PBMichiganWolverine : Lol! Adding whisky to the mix might not be such a good idea :)
A variation of this is smoking a cigar and then drinking a whiskey. The intensity of the cigar overrides the smoky notes in most whiskies so the sweet notes become more pronounced.
I did a similar experiment in a non-whisky context. When traveling for work and staying alone in hotels, I noticed if I fell asleep with the tv on, I dreamt of what was playing on tv. POOF, I'm in that tv show subconsciously. The last few were NFL games. I need to try this experiment in the non-PG arena
@Davie-Warner : Thank you! Sounds like a fun and delicious experiment. Will definitely try it sometime :)
Well said! I recall it was like an Ardbeg sans peat smoke. Here's a little experiment you kids can do at home: Pour a dram of your favorite heavily peated single malt and then go sip it in front of a nice smoky campfire, and POOF! Your brain is convinced the smoke in your glass must be from the fire, and suddenly your tasting an "unpeated" Caol Ila, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, etc. ILLUMINATING.
