My first Cragganmore...never realized it was even sold as a single malt. I know it's been a workhorse staple for Diageo in it's blends...but, Diageo...smart move bringing this out to play outside the shadow of blends. I love the aroma in this---I can smell this as a dessert all evening. Maybe it's just me...but, I got chamomiles and lavender...very floral, as if you're standing in Longwood Gardens during spring bloom. The follow through on the palette wasn't as amazing as the aroma, but I'm getting lavenders, honey, and almonds. I need to look this up for a full bottle...really a hidden gem. Thank you Paul M for this sample---great experience to try something new and different!!

And...coincidentally, we're having sushi tonight, then going to see Logan. Was going to have it afterwards, but now will be with dinner
I have to say that the Two James Smoking Gun is definitely a left field type of beverage. When I sat down and drank it straight up I couldn't really get into it at all. But then, I tried it again with a semi-spicy sushi roll and discovered how well it pairs with food. My rating of it by itself would be pretty low, I think, but with the sushi they compliment each other surprisingly well. That's how I truly recommend you try this one, Pranay. Cheers.
Just saw the pic---interesting fusion of east/west. Going to try this tonight post-Logan at the theaters
It's not that great, but it is different. I will send out a picture of the bottle
I'm actually really looking forward to that Two James spirit sample---that's a pretty localized brand only in Detroit, I think. Can't get that here in Northeast
Cragganmore 12 is one of the 6 Classic Malts of Scotland for Diageo. The others are Oban 14, Dalwhinnie 15, Talisker 10, Lagavulin 16 and Glenkinchie 12. Together they represent the different regions of Scotland. It's not really hidden, nor is it pushed all that hard. Nice review, I found it quite enjoyable as well
Nice review, Pranay. Putting in SDT work tonight, I see. There's lots of good juice sitting around my kitchen and I can't wait to get after it, but working nights has shut me down. Living vicariously through you guy's reviews for a few days then I'm gonna get my hands dirty lol.
