You will find light fruits like peaches, some vanilla and sweetness on the nose. Peaches on the palate as well, followed by caramel, faint vanilla followed by pleasant Sherry notes and some oak. The finish is long and warm lingering and especially dry. Much like the tannins from a red wine. I assume a lot of third fill or even older casks were used, which only contribute this kind of aftertaste. In general I like this one. If I keep in mind, that this is a entry level whisky it is great bang per money but.....but in this price range there are way more appealing options in my opinion. Personally I would always opt for a Glendronach 12yo, Glenfarclas 12yo or even Auchentoshan Three Wood. (79/100)
