More restrained than a typical Laphroaig, with a pleasant nuttiness to the nose. The finish is long but very dry, like eating a mouthful of cocoa powder. That's the influence of the smaller casks, no doubt, and while it isn't unpleasant it's not what I look for in a Laphroaig.

Yes, I wasn't planning to either. Should be getting a taste next week though at Whisky Jewbilee. Incidentally, the 1815 I've sent you has a similar finish to this. I'll post a review after I give it another try.
This year's Cairdeas looks like it'll be this QC, except cask strength. I won't be buying it, wasn't a fan of this regular strength
