Completely different beast. I enjoy the normal 18 for the violet grape candy notes that a are unique for me. These are much subdued by the sherry casks in this one. Branding and bottle design is so similar to the normal 18 that I got this by mistake running through the airport! Still a great dram so not a lost purchase.
I like this new 18 better. Has more staying power and more complex
