Macallan 12 Double Cask
Nose is sweet fruit, floral, honey
Taste is spicy, oak, some lemon honey, fairly dry.
A few drops of water lowers the spice and adds more honey
Got a great deal on some tasters. Probably going to have to pick up a few more.
Later tasting: prunes and raisins on nose, taste is sweet dried fruit, oak, vanilla

I have had the regular 12 and I'm in the same boat. I think the double casks beats it out by a bit. I'm not as big in Sherry, so I think it gets better with the Sherry down a notch. I actually have a taster of regular 12 and 2 more of the double Cask. I need to do a side by side tasting in the future.
Nice review. I'm curious if you've tried the regular Macallan 12 (sherry) and which camp you side with: this new hotness or the tried and true sherry? I think I prefer the double cask, ever so slightly. Cheers.
