Phew.. for a minute there... I lost myself... I can see why it's rated 99. Perfect, and I mean it is a supremely balanced dram. Now that's the deal though... This is the one you want, when you DO seek balance. You want any emphasis of anything like peat, fruit, malt, sweet etc, venture elsewhere, BUT this is the one with *everything*. It reminded me of drinking an Ardbeg Oogie with less peat and smoke, but more of everything else including floral notes. I'll have to tag a 5 star on this bottle, and I am looking forward to trying the Dark Origins I just got today for my vacation next week. Slainte Mhath!

Paul--by the time where done with our Scottish distillery sampling, it'll be another 18 months. Go ahead do it...open it up this weekend before we start round 3
Paul, that's some serious patience to resist opening your bottle! Great review Telex, couldn't agree more.
I've had a bottle of the 18 for about 6 months now. Haven't opened it due to all the sampling I've been doing. Think this will be my prize when it's all done. Great review
The Dark Origins won't be as good as this. But, worthwhile to try it while it's still available. I think that's being replaced with Valkyrie.
... or 1 bottle of Highland Park 25!
If you're looking for something better than a bottle of Highland Park 18, then I suggest two bottles of Highland Park 18. Sláinte! :)
