I'm new to Distiller.com, over time I've gotten to trust Stephanie Moreno's tasting notes so when I saw the rating of 99 I went straight out and got 2 bottles. Sadly this is not a favourite. I simply cannot taste the oyster or mushrooms sea salt bacon. OK, I fully admit I am a numpty compared to Stephanie, so I will keep on trying. As a comparison I tried a bottle of Lavagulin 16 year which to my tastes is far, far superior. I know they aren't apple to apples comparison, but there you go. The Lavagulin in comparison though has superb value for money at half the price, and twice the richness and depth.
Nose - vanilla, then marmalade, rich sherry, hint of smoke
Palate - spicy, peat comes through, thick, viscous, tremendous body warmth with no burn, fruit jam
Finish - long, dry
The reason I have gone for a 3 is that there are others in my list that rate a 4 or higher for me

@Hud1865 Never buy bottles based on one person's score. Tasting notes are highly subjective, and your experience of smell and taste might be completely different.
