Alright alright alright! Neat! The nose is bacon up front for me.. peat smoke, and oaky wood, leather, and thankfully the citrus is distant.. caramel apples!! Let's go down the rabbit hole for the palate... Nice and smooth - no water needed (but this my third dram shhh!) .. Great campfire flavor with that Laphroaig brine we know and love. Dark deep apple with subtle pie crust on the backend. The finish is long and nice with ash, baked crust, cinnamon, and more bacon... This is like an intense Lagavulin 16, if it was cask strength.. wow... This one needs a re-release...STAT!

Just got one bottle on my recent Chicago trip. There is one bottle left in the small liquor store just in front of Logan Square L train station if someone from the area is looking for this one. (85 USD)
Had this at distillery last week. Good one!
This was really good. Probably my favorite Cairdeas, up there with the port one from years back. I had this last year, courtesy of a few consultants who had taken me out for drinks. We all ordered the same thing, but they threw theirs away, said it tasted like gym socks. And instead they got whiskey and coke. Waste of precious juice.
Pranay - thanks for the like. Looking forward to your notes on the Ardbeg An Oa. I noticed we had similar ratings.
