I agree with the expert review on this one. And, that’s not always the case. This is a very enjoyable dram at this price point. My go to affordable blends have been Monkey Shoulder and Isle of Skye, but they have made way for this one. Sure, I get some of the grain whisky in the aroma, but I also get apples and caramel. The mouth feel is not as thin as I thought it would be. Slight heat, cinnamon, that gives way to a really interesting sweet apple chocolate finish. Solid.

I agree with you guys...I definitely need to re-review this one. When I look at my review from several years ago, it seems rather rudimentary. This is a good scotch, but now that I've experienced more scotches this is definitely not as high on my list.
@dubz480 yep without a doubt. I was speaking with a friend the other day who I introduced to scotch. He was upset at finishing a bottle he liked. And I said hey just think of it as a one in a lifetime experience . . . Be thankful for that bottle and the happiness it brought you because that particular experience won’t be duplicated. Even when you go get out immediately and get the same exact bottle. We all find our go to whisky for sure. But the true joy is the journey. In fact, let me check my wish list now for my new infatuation the small Campbeltown region.
I feel you on that. I would revise a bunch of my earlier ratings as well. Part of the fun in tasting better Whiskey is the experience. The negative is you then begin to realize what you thought was amazing is just good!
I’m going to move it down to 3 stars. Not that it’s not solid for the price, but I’ve stumbled onto too many premiums to have this at a 4. The palate is just too thin for a four star rating.
Great review!
I forgot to put the stars. FOUR.
