Cracking open the sample on this one and giving it a nose definitely reminded me of lagavullin 16 which i haven't had in a while. The similarities translate to the palate, a cross between the laga and a bowmore 18 in some ways in terms of flavour profile but thinner and younger. No harshness though. I'm really impressed with this drop given its only 5ish years old. My favourite Kilchoman so far. The distillery founders Anthony and Kathy wills will be attending the NZ dramfest in March next year so I'll make sure to pop along to the special session they are running and sample all their top notch stuff :-). 4.25 at least for this one.

Ah nice. If you do make it down this neck of the woods plenty of top notch whiskies waiting for you :-)
Me and my wife will make a brief (3 days) stop in Auckland on our Around-the-world trip next summer, coming from Singapore and heading to the Cook Islands afterwards. Time is limited, so I doubt we will make it to Wellington, but we'll see :-)
Cheers :-). what brings you over to this neck of the woods? I'm unfortunately several hundred kms away at the bottom of the north island in Wellington so if you make it down there def keen to catch up for a dram and swap a bunch as well. :-). Whilst I've visited a number of times and been to a number of bars nothing stands out as great to recommend. There was one good whiskey bar but it was very expensive and has now closed. Wellington and Christchurch I know though so if you make it to either if those...
@Soba45: Nice review! I am visiting Auckland next summer and wonder if there are any nice bars or shops worth a visit? I could also bring a bunch of samples, if you happen to live on the North Island somewhere near Auckland! Slainte.
