Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year

Blended Malt — Scotland

I absolutely love this Scotch. It seems regardless of what I have in the cabinet, I keep coming back to this. And I have to say I'm very relieved that my 2nd May 2017 bottling was just as good as the 2016 bottling I had the first time. My last bottle before this was not quite as good, and I was let down. I hope whatever I'm drinking right now never changes again (it probably will). It's so intense and well blended...It tastes very close to an 18 year old single malt. This is something that probably would have made me sick a few years ago because of the rich intense smell and taste, but now It's the sort of thing I hope for. If you get a bad bottle it's still pretty good, however if you get a good bottle it's very good. You'll know by the blast of intense aroma in your nostrils as you exhale after a sip. Lovely intese American oak and medium but quality peat from talisker and coal isla.

@PBMichiganWolverine & @The_Rev Diagio make solid whisky so I don’t think it’s just outright BS - just an obvious a marketing cash-in decision that’s resulted in yet one more slightly different JW formula. Diagio owns so many distilleries they can keep making permutations until doomsday and not repeat themselves.

@deuce26 Well, at least of it ever does get discontinued again, you're covered! (As long as you don't drink them all ; )

@PBMichiganWolverine I have not...To be honest i'm not a fan of novelty bottles. It really seems like a lot of marketing BS to me, but who knows...The only one I regret not getting was the Blade Runner edition because not only do I love that movie and have a sentimental feeling about JW Black, but its apparently pretty good too!

@PBMichiganWolverine My money is on BS, but I’m planning to pick up a bottle to find out...a fool and his money or whatnot.

@deuce26 JW Green is really good. Island Green comes in close second. Have you tried the Game of Thrones version? I’m wondering if it’s all marketing bullshit or if it’s actually backed up by good juice

I love it too. Actually bought a case recently because I was worried that I wasn’t seeing it in the shelves. Then of course as soon as the case comes in I’m seeing it everywhere now. Go figure?
