Yoichi has this really unusual type of peat, an earthy mushroom-y, black truffle style of flavor. Imagine taking that, and then adding a layer of tropical fruits like mangoes, kiwi, and passionfruit. Truly unique and singular. The closest similarity I can think of for this is like having pasta with shavings of black truffle, followed by a mango cheesecake dessert. Thankful to have tried a wee sample this afternoon's at a friend's for Christmas lunch. Also, apparently, this is only available in Japan, and that too a mere 500 bottles.

@Dreaming-of-Islay : yeah, I guess if you're not a fan of earthy mushrooms, especially like truffles, this might not be the peat to try. I've only had black truffles once ( in Piedmont, with some pasta and cream sauce).. I personally love it
Dead on description of Yoichi peat — I happen not to be the biggest mushroom fan so it’s not my ideal, but it’s certainly distinctive!
