Peat Monster is my first Compass Box whisky (definitely not my last). I am impressed. I enjoy Ledaig 10, Talisker 10, Te Bheag, Highland Park 12 and Green Label. Lagavulin 10 is a bridge too far for me (sigh). So it is likely not surprising that PM scratches my itch, hugely. It is phenolic, and gentle. Coastal and peaty, yet sweet and full. Powerful and subtle. It is 46% and NCF, and in Ontario these days (limited quantity, move quickly) it is $64.90! A solid 5 star for me.
