While in Denver this week, I had the opportunity to try this at the Westin hotel bar. Of course, adding in the premium of Westin, I’m sure I overpaid at $8 /pour. But regardless, I guess if I were to hold up three bottles that showcase the best American craft whiskies that’s not sourced but rather distilled themselves, this would definitely be one of those three. Upfront candied cherries with caramel and chocolate, not overly deep and complex ...but really well made and enjoyable as a dessert dram. Personally...I’ll be getting a bottle. Food pairing: with dessert, something like a chocolate mousse , light and airy high cocoa content

@Richard-ModernDrinking their Snowflake annual release apparently causes long lines forming night before release
@SolanaRoots I’ve heard of Colkegan—-let me know what you think. Whether it’s a hit or miss
Agreed, this is one of the best American single malts I’ve had.
Thanks @PBMichiganWolverine - good list. I just bought a bottle of Deerhammer over the holidays in Colorado. Also picked up a Colkegan (New Mexico distillery). Looking forward to both
@SolanaRoots personally, for me...it would be Deerhammer (another Colorado product) and Westland. I’m ruling out High West because it’s sourced.
Good review. What are the other two bottles you’re holding up alongside this one?
