It's been a while since my last note. Was out celebrating my 30th birthday, and tastes a couple of amazing stuff (couldn't get notes down...but I got to try Hibiki 17, Redbreast 12, Caol Ila 18, Laphroaig Lore, Kilchoman Sanaig and Glenmorangie Lasanta). All amazing, but I haven't been in the mood for tastings lately. But since today is the last time for the next 6 to 9 months I can drink a dram (going in for surgery tomorrow), I figuered I might as well write my 90th review with something I like.
The Classic Laddie is a Whisky that catches the eye. That bottle is just...well, unique. It flashes, draws attention, and luckily, the juice can keep up with what the bottle promises.
On the nose I get a slight honey with salty sea air, some peaches and a faint smoke...like from a campfire that died down in the early hours of the morning, the last embers just about to fade away. It still gives you that maritime feeling without suffocating you in smoke. The taste has a very moderate sweetness from the honeyed barley, some grilled peaches with seasalt sprinkled over them, and still contains a light smoke burn. That's probably an illusion from the 100 proof.
The aftertaste fades away with floral, fruity notes in the seabreeze, with a layer of cereals giving it some weight.
All in all, I really enjoy the smurf. It's a good candidate for a last dram. I'll still be sticking around and reading your notes, and I'm looking forward to start contributing again. Until then, may the waters of life never run dry for you my friends. Slainthe!

All the best. Gees that doesn't sound good. Hopefully you'll be drinking whiskey in no time!
Thanks guys! I'm back from hospital and I'm mostly fine. Getting most of your stomach ripped out does take a toll on you. But at least I'm from spiceless soup to yoghurt at this point, so I'm good. I'll tell ya, a week without wifi or any other internet sucks XD
All the best, mate. Hope the procedure goes well and you are back on deck and tasting drams again soon. Air do dheagh shlàinte!
A full and speedy recovery to you; I'll raise a glass in your honor tonight!
Good luck. Good health and speedy recovery.
Here’s hoping you have a full and speedy recovery. Great review
