Contact Buffalo Trace with the store name and location. They crack down on distributors and locations doing that.
Rate the bourbon not the price. If you can get a 5 star bourbon for $50 vs $300 buy the $50 but don't give the $300 a bad rating. It was under $100 when released.
I doubt that it tastes 12 times better than a $50 bottle which is about my limit. But if you the money you'll figure something to spend it on
Isn't this why more and more distilleries launch "limited releases" ? They hope that the market and demand forces play. Combination of hype, marketing, and of course quality-----they hope that demand increases so much on their limited releases, that prices will soar. Of course, the stores add their own severe mark ups, making already high prices into ridiculous. ( like that $500 Yamazaki 18's I saw in my local store...which by the way, have all been sold out!)
Honestly I think it's just stores charging what they can for a high demand rarity, Matt. People will pay. The salesman said a guy came in before me and bought two. Paid $1,200 for two bottles of this. That's just stupid.
Wow that is crazy! Next Pappy?
