Wow this is a great dram. The 17 year I had a couple of months ago was ok but this was stellar. Really rich red wine flavour powers through and is well balanced by the over 55% abv. 4.25 - 4.5 for me.

@PBMichiganWolverine @cascode. Yeah 2017 was Malbec which I liked but was more of a solid 4. 2016 was pinot which I never tried. I got to try a Cab Franc 17 year (single barrel never commercially released) which was just ok. I think what else you drink prior to makes a difference as I slowly build up to this 55.9% one having tried a number of others prior. Not sure how it would go if I went straight in as I think the spirit may come across a bit to full on and mask the flavour. Others haven't rated this one as highly but along with Glen Scotia Victoriana this was top on the night.
@cascode I have a sample of this from TWE...you just expedited my curiosity to break it open and give it a go
I think last year’s was malbec (but don’t quote me, I’ve not checked).
@Soba45 do they have an annual Red release? I thought I saw one that was Pinot Noir as well
