With Hibiki 17 being discontinued, I decided to go all in and try the 21. This is sick. Very rich with notes of dried fruit, burnt caramel, cherries, berries, a little Hakushu smoke, and mizunara on the nose and chocolate covered fruits on the palate, and a toffee and fruity finish. Update: Got a $25 1 oz pour of this at Sanford’s Astoria and citrus and toffee joined the flavor mix.

@worldwhiskies95 I wouldn't mind to see Nikka's with age statement return to the market - although I doubt that they will be very affordable...
@Slainte-Mhath Regarding temporary shortages, I recently heard rumors that Nikka might be bringing back age statements in 2020
Hmm, the same source claims that Hakushu 12yo is also affected by this. Sounded more like a 'temporary shortage' rather than a permanent stop of production, but who knows. Was probably a good idea to stock up Yamazaki 12 and 18yo while there were still some bottles around...
@PBMichiganWolverine @LeeEvolved The Hibiki 21 is not being discontinued at least as of this moment. Neither is the Nikka 17 and Nikka 21. But anything can happen.
I don’t think the 21 has officially hit the chopping block just yet. The only thing I read was that the 17 is definitely gone. Still, I’d cherish this one as long as possible, just in case.
@worldwhiskies95 I think this is being discontinued too. Save a few last pours for a special occasion
