Nice drop, vanilla, caramel, honey.. you get the bourban casks coming through all right not so much the sherry. Balances out nicely with the abv. Solid 4 for me..not quite sure why it's rated so highly on average on distiller though. I have a bottle but definitely not kicking myself for getting more.

@cascode I'll definitely sell you mine for $500! Just need to figure out how to get it to you :-).
Last year, after they announced the discontinuation, two bottles of this turned up on a local online whisky seller's site but the price was 20% over the rrp of a week before. I was hesitant about buying and by the time I decided to, both had sold. I regret my indecision and having missed out on the last two available bottles to this day. If it showed up for $500/bottle tomorow I'd buy a case.
@Telex And I should add a 4 is a pretty decent rating for me it was more seeing the 4.4 distiller average which is very high and thinking hmm that's usually 'this is going to blow me away territory'! :-)
@Telex Yeah I had a bottle of the 17 a fair while ago and from memory felt similar. Nice drop but solid 4 type thing. I've had several distillery and IBs now from them. Range from average to quite nice but nothing that's blown me away.
I felt eerily similar when I tried their 12. The 17 I enjoyed though. Might be worth a taste if you can find without purchasing.
