Thanks to @Dreaming-of-Islay for the pour! I can’t give Ardbeg anything less than 4 stars. Just can’t. In fact, they can mature whisky in barrels that previously held snail snot, and I’m sure we all would be raving about it here. So...I remember having the Committee version of this some time back...this one here is the same, just pulls its punches a wee bit. But, hell...it’s Ardbeg. Even if it pulls its punches, you’re still gonna feel it as if Mike Tyson just gave you an uppercut. Peat and orchard fruits galore here. Green apples, bonfire, clotted cream. It’s Ardbeg...it’s good. Thanks @Dreaming-of-Islay for the sample!

Yes, as was told to me. To make a nice display on ones bar.
@Scott_E wait...they’re buying three because the picture with all three together looks pretty? Really?
I was fortunate enough to get one recently through a liquor store I frequent as he had a flash sale and two bottles (he held one for me) for $99. What was said, additionally, is that customers are wanting to purchase three as the combined collective box of three creates a mixed display with that 60s Grooves logo. Just a tidbit....
@LeeEvolved @PBMichiganWolverine — the prices were very close for both bottles. I bit because they were both highly allocated and never made the shelf on any store that I could find.
Well, I know you ended up paying a bit of a markup on your CE bottles, but I ended up getting my CE bottles for $120 here in Virginia, and I recently saw the regular Grooves online for $110. I believe @Telex said he actually paid $120 for the regular Grooves bottle he found in Maryland. I’m taking a break from new, NAS Ardbegs for awhile I think. I might divert my funds for finding older, well-aged bottles now. #firstworldprotest
@LeeEvolved it’s only a $10 difference? That’s just plain stupid. Maybe the CE is out, and retailers marking this up? Nah, my review was just on the taste. I don’t have this bottle—just a sample.
I’ve got both of these suckers tucked away. :)
A five star rating also means you approve of the $110 retail price. Just $10 less than the suggested retail price of the CE Grooves. Hmm, what say you?
