Crown Royal Noble Collection 13 Year Blenders' Mash
Canadian — Canada

Very oaky expression from Crown Royal. Significant barrel influence from the thirteen years aging. Tannic finish. Much more interesting than any other Crown Royal I’ve tried. Definitely a drier Crown with little of that traditional CR sweetness to be found.

@m_scho yeah, the wine finished was a tad too sweet. Also from what I remember, it just wasn’t well integrated. The first one, Cornerstone, was amazing. It was $40 or when it came out, and well worth the price.
@m_scho good to know. I figured some air would do wonders to this one given how predominant the oak is. I plan on sampling a proper pour tonight and will let it breathe for a long while before I do. Cheers!
@PBMichiganWolverine There are still a few bottles of the Wine Finished Noble floating around here in NH but I worry it’d be a little too sweet for me, especially considering how sweet CR is anyway. I’m bummed I never got to try the Cornerstone blend.
@dubz480 This is one that has gotten better with a little oxidation for me. It’s still quite tannic and okay but the first impression was almost entirely those notes alone. A few months in and I’m getting some nice subtle orange and spice notes that I didn’t get at opening. The stock is dwindling here in NH so I’ll probably pick another bottle up soon.
@PBMichiganWolverine so far so good. For the $57 I just got it for it appears to be a solid value. If you are a fan of oaky Bourbon's, this one would be up your alley. If you tasted it blind you would guess it was well aged Kentucky Bourbon. No Canadian notes to be found!
@dubz480 I loved their first one, and wasn’t fond of last year’s. This year seems better?
Just got this one and took a wee sip (maybe 0.5 oz). So far it's promising. Agree with the heavy oak influence and smoothness. That's immidiately apparent. Letting it breathe and will review later.
