Throughout this nice offering from Four Roses, the Small Batch is a wonderful blend of floral and fruity. On the nose it has a bit of alcohol esters and a cassis. The taste is all rose petals, vanilla and fruit. Not the typical vanilla, caramel flavoring of a well made bourbon. It has a lingering floral taste that dominates the finish. Little burn with a drying sensation. This is a great bourbon for hot days of summer when you are not looking for that deep, rich burn and fulfilling spirit. Overall, not bad and a great value. I’d truthfully rate it closer to 3.5.
