Slainte-Mhath
anCnoc 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland

Distillery names can be a bit confusing: Knockdhu, Knockando - so let's just call this single malt anCnoc which is Gaelic for 'black hill'. Fruity acidity, sour berry mash and lemon zest are first to arrive on the nose, but there is a diverse mixture of fresh, floral and malty notes lurking in the back. The taste is spirit-driven, spicy and mildly dry with tropical fruits, heather honey and brown sugar. Just shy of medium length, the finish evolves with a touch of cinnamon, oak and licorice. A good 12-year-old entry-level malt which is flawless, easy-drinking and reliable.

@Slainte-Mhath No, it's on the list to try though. Should be I interesting.
@MashtunMike I noticed that you got a new edition of 'Highland Park Cask Strength' in Sweden - did you have the chance to try it? It's not available in Norway due to this stupid 60% ABV law...
I agree, I think anCnoc 12 yr is a good summmer whisky.
Additional comment: The fruitiness of anCnoc really intrigued me, and I can only guess that it's coming from the yeast used in the fermentation. This whisky would qualify for a good summer dram, but looking outside my window, I see autumn approaching swiftly in Norway. Time to return to my peated malts...
