Nose- Caramel, sweet tea, lemon, and wood char with a noticeable astringency.
Body- Very sweet on first impression but then wood char notes come through and give way to a dry dark chocolate bitterness. The body is kind of plain, thin, and has that sour taste that I don’t care for.
Finish- The finish starts off with that bitterness. The green apple note that I get so strongly in RHF and even Blanton’s comes through only at the very end and only slightly. The finish is the most interesting part of this dram by far.
Note- I liked it more and more with each drink. With each sip I got more sugars and vanilla notes to balance the bitter bite on the beginning of the finish. Even with that said, I prefer it’s high rye siblings MUCH more!
I do me Freeeeeeeedom and Milliardo! I do me! Double up!
