Digging through my backlog of samples, I was happy to discover a Springbank that I didn’t recall trying previously. I got aromas of walnuts, pine, orange rind and black tea on the nose. The first sip tasted huge, an intensity of flavor that felt like cask strength rather than 46%. There’s orange rind and black tea again, but also dark chocolate. On the finish, there’s an interesting cheesy note at the end that I loved. A drop of water opened everything up, leading to a long, dry peppery finish with more dark chocolate. Another Campbeltown classic.

I also have a Weber gas grill that’s good if you’re pressed for time. :)
@PBMichiganWolverine - it’s a ceramic lump charcoal grill that gets up to about 1,200’. If you like your steak Pittsburgh style it’s the only way to go. Not a good choice if you’re impatient.
@Rick_M wait...what’s a big green egg?
@Richard-ModernDrinking - your post is comical. In sitting here cooking a couple of ribeyes on my big green egg drinking a Springbank 15. I reviewed it at 4 stars previously but it’s tasting like 5 at the moment. :)
