Talisker Storm is a scotch I have tried a few times in bars and liked, but never enough to shell for the full bottle. I did receive a sample as a gift and so this tasting was more leisurely.
It welcomes you with light smoke and smells of orange rind, dillisk, lawnmower engine and Atlantic spray. The hospitality continues with tastes of tears, soft smoky peat, oak, spicy pepper, and some honey sweetness. At the end, a salted, peppered oak ushers you gently on your way.
A very enjoyable island scotch, but overall not as good as the 10 year old or the Skye in my opinion. Probably 3.75 stars. Next up on my backlog from Talisker is a sample of the 18 year old, for which I have high hopes.

I hope I share @cascode and @PBMichiganWolverine experience of it. But expectations dampened. Thanks @Soba45 :)
@1901 I'll be that person :-). I didn't dislike it (that was the 25 for me), but I diligently worked my way through a bottle and found it quite hot and not as flavorful as the 10. Maybe a dud bottle.. although I generally prefer my peated whiskies younger and more robust so there is that. The one I'm looking forward to trying is the Neist point. From the official bottlings order of preference for me is 10, 57 North, Port Rouge, 18, Distiller, Dark Storm, 25
@1901 yeah, I’m surprised—not here in the app. But I just saw it on TWE, $611 for it ( 1985 27 yr old). Silly price.
@1901 Good review. Sorry but I can’t disappoint you regarding the 18 year - it’s delicious.
@PBMichiganWolverine interesting about the 27 year old. Hadn't heard of it and I can't see it in this app. Glad that you liked the 18yo - makes me look forward to it more. Now I need someone to say they hated it to lower my expectations :)
@1901 the 18 is amazing. I’ve not tried it, but I’ve read that the Diageo special release from a few years ago, the 27, was the best
