Saltana, raisan, orange peel, carob and more going on here. I had a feeling with ex-olorosso i was on a winner but then again the previous two deanstons weren't that great. This definitely is despite slight sulfur taint..after I dropped a dollop of water in. It really opened up with several drops. 4 to 4.25 I reckon. It won't replace Glendronach 18 as my best standard pure ex-olorosso fare but it's up there.

@PBMichiganWolverine - my kids can now accompany their Old Man and even teach him a few things. And sometimes they pay! You’ll get there
@PBMichiganWolverine Haha, true. I've trained the kids to tag along on vineyards (more or less!) but as you say there are limits to how long they last!
@Soba45 i find it difficult to visit distilleries traveling with family. Our last vacation, this past Aug to England, had 2 distilleries on my list to see ( Cotswold and Lakes). We barely spent 10 minutes in each. In comparison, 3 freakin hours were spent visiting Peter Rabbits place in Grasmere
@AntonioSchmid Nice! I'm still kicking myself I never visited any distilleries when I was in Scotland but then I never liked whiskey when I was that young...one day I'll get there.. :-)
@Soba45 I have an unopened bottle of a Deanston’s distillery exclusive, 15 yrs - Sauternes Finish - cask strength, that is in one simple word, AMAZING! I tasted it in the distillery along w/ some others limited editions and the core range and for me it was the stand out by far!
