Tasted this for the second successive year at this event and it is a gem of a whiskey. For the ABV it is incredibly smooth and drinkable. At the Midleton stand it was the standout among Redbreast 21, Very Rare 2018, and Red Spot.
Unfortunately I did not record the tree number of the bottle. The number represents the particular Irish oak used for the finishing barrels and apparently you can visit the estate and sip your spirit while sitting on the tree stump. An expensive picnic because a bottle will set you back €300.

@1901 that price seems extremely high...would buy a sample though
The latest Dair Ghaelach release is imminent. It’s Dair Ghaelach Knockrath Forest and the entry is already on Distiller. Finished in virgin Irish Oak from a forest close to where I live. I would love to experience it and compare to this Bluebell Forest release, which is a hard act to follow and surpass. I’m half considering a splurge, although I have never bought any bottle close to this price.
@1901 Ah I'd love to but these days, kids mortgage etc..maybe if I win lotto :-)
@Soba45 if you're ever planning a trip to your old stomping grounds in Dublin then plan it for late November and I'll see you there :)
@PBMichiganWolverine :) close... Grinsells Wood. No I haven't tried it but I see it scores well on this app.
@1901 have you tried the other Dair ? Grindelwald’s, Grinnel’s...I forget. How does that compare?
Gees..definitely a tasting I'd LOVE to be at..very jealous!
@PBMichiganWolverine yes it's the top of their current range. The Bluebell Forest is the second series of the Dair Ghaelach and I don't know if that will be a permanent series.
Is this the top end of their range?
