On the nose the aromas are powerfully intense! Sweet, dark brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, cherry lozenges, cola nut, oak wood, barrel char, oiled leather, coffee, and a hint of bright citrus.
-
To the palate it is punishing with the intensity of flavour and alcohol! Sweet, dark caramel hits first with a zing of spice and cinnamon leading to an incredibly warming experience with cherry syrup, vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate and a hint of lemon zest. It has a rich syrupy mouthfeel.
-
The finish leaves the tongue numb! Smoke, cloves, rye spice, tobacco and a long, lingering sweet oak flavour reside.
—
With a splash of water, the nose is much more approachable. To the palate it is still aggressive and more rye spiciness appears, along with wood bitterness. Cherry candy and lemon zest burst towards the finish.

This stuff is phenomenal! The first time I tried it, I immediately went back for more, and I’m pretty sure it peeled all the skin off the inside of my mouth!
-
The power and intensity isn’t all that’s going on here, there’s also a lot of complexity and rich, delicious flavours! If I had to sum it up, I’d say it resembles Cherry Cola.
-
I definitely recommend water to protect your senses and also to open this whisky up to reveal all it has to offer.
