Tasting neat. Nose is caramel apples with some wood and a very slight burn. Taste starts with plenty of oak, barrel spices, and vanilla, mostly warm cinnamon, with lots of brown sugar, red apple, cherry candy, and a touch of smoke and alcohol burn. The finish is long, somewhat tart with lots of wood sweetness
It's a standard, and put wheaters back on the map. It's smooth and pretty, but has just enough bite to keep it from being a dessert bomb. A good bourbon to cut your teeth on, that you may just have to keep around in your collection
