At a hundred bucks a bottle and being so rare in the USA, I can’t help but wish this cognac was a bit more exciting. It’s got a pleasant light fruity taste and aroma, but the heavy alcohol burn makes it feel kind of...cheap somehow. As a brandy fan I truly like it and savor every sip but I’m not sure I’ll buy it again. It’s something nice to have experienced, but nothing makes it stand out all that much besides its apparent rarity.

@Nintos Maybe! My friend is selling it for cheap so I might give it another shot as a mixer.
@Brandyman We live and we learn, I suppose. My boss talked me into going in on a bottle and I just told him to keep the rest 😂. He says he used it as a mixer and it was fantastic, but I never really rate a spirit based on its mixing potential—I like to see how it stands up on its own, and this definitely fell short. If you have any left though, maybe it’s worth a shot mixing it!
I felt the same way. Way overhyped and way too harsh. It feels like it should be a value, bottom shelf version of hennessy. Or close to it.
