A trustworthy Islay single malt that suits well in most occasions.
The nose has the islands staple of smoke and peat, with Bowmore's fragrant floral notes airing through.
The palate continues with those smoky and tarry aromas that are not overwhelming at all, balanced out with an oily floral taste that has some of that oak barrel holding it together.
On the finish most of the peat and smoke leaves room fast for lingering fragrant notes that are mostly floral, sometimes on the brink of menthol. Finished with a mild lemon and salt for that coastal theme.
As mentioned a decent Islay single malt that I don't feel is overly complex although enjoyable.
