I had tried this many years ago, and couldn't understand how it was so highly rated. Maybe my tastes weren't matured, so we'll give it another go. Cracking open a bottle now. Date code starts with 18311.
Nose: At first I got nothing but rubbing alcohol, but the aromas came alive after sitting for a few seconds. Nice and woody, still a little rough, reminds me of the insides of a rick house. I'm not pulling a ton of individual aroma, but that wood smells good.
Tounge: I was hoping for something woody, but I'm getting hit with memories of my last tasting. The alcohol hits hard, very medicinal, I get some hints of wood, but it's hard to swallow. Burns going down, very spicy.
Finish: Although I'm thinking I'm still not a fan, the after taste is quite pleasant. it leaves a nice smoky wood flavor, that lingers for a while. This alone may make it worth an occasional drink.
Adding a few drops of water does wake it up, and makes it a bit more manageable on the tongue.
Overall, I'm still not a big fan, maybe I'm just not one who has a taste for this level of spicy.

I go back and forth. At $30 or so it's decent enough, but that said it's McKenna or an EC Store pick for me all day. When you take this one in isolation, you could do worse but it just doesn't live up to the Hype. And I love both BT and HH juice!
I think it’s pretty solid. But, I’m more a Buffalo Trace guy than Heaven Hill.
@AvedisWolf I've given this one a couple of tries since it seems to be the only BT product I can find on a fairly regular basis, but it just doesn't do it for me either.
