Tasing Neat: Beautiful deep copper color.
Nose has the expected ethanol, but the burn is short and clean and is quickly followed by a spicy oak, red apple, light brown sugar, vanilla and char.
Tasting starts out with the ethanol and lots of flavor intensity: The sweetness is nicely countered with smoke and oak that gives a nice sweet/savory balance. Lots of baking spices, notably nutmeg/allspice, with some dark fruits and a touch of chocolate. Finish is medium-long with a nice tannic ending.
Overall, a rich, complex bourbon that stands out with its smoky, spicy profile. Woodford Reserve and Four Roses Single Barrel lovers, will find a lot to love with this one. Great value and will always be in stock on my shelf
